Who we are
This website is run by BYECO UK LTD, trading as ByEco (company number 15459901), registered at 12–14 Midland Street, Manchester M12 6LB. We are the “controller” of the personal information described here, which means we decide how it is used and are responsible for looking after it.

What we collect
When you request a quote, book a survey or send us an enquiry through this website, we collect the details you type in. Depending on the form, that can include:
- your name, email address and phone number;
- your postcode or address;
- details about your home and your current heating, hot water or energy use;
- anything you write in a message to us.
With each enquiry we also record the date and time and the internet (IP) address it was sent from. We use this to spot and block spam and misuse.
If you phone, email or message us on WhatsApp, we keep a record of that conversation so we can help you.
How we use it, and why we are allowed to
- To reply to you and prepare a quote. We need your details to take the steps you have asked for before any contract, such as a survey and a quotation.
- To carry out and support work you agree to. If you go ahead, we use your information to perform our contract with you, including installation, aftercare and warranty support.
- To keep records and meet our legal duties, for example tax and accounting records.
- To keep the website secure and prevent spam and fraud, which is in our legitimate interests.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making. We will only send you marketing if you have asked for it, and you can ask us to stop at any time.
Who we share it with
We only share your information where it is needed to run our business or where the law requires it:
- Service providers who host and deliver this website and our email, and who help protect the site from attacks. They may only use your information to provide that service to us.
- Organisations involved in your installation, where needed and with your knowledge — for example an equipment manufacturer for a warranty registration, or your electricity network operator for a connection notification.
- Public authorities, if we are legally required to.
Some of our providers may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on the legal safeguards that UK data protection law requires.
Cookies, analytics and your browser
- Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It does not use cookies or build a profile of you.
- Your theme choice. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your own browser so the site remembers it. It is not sent to us.
- Fonts, icons and page features load from third-party content networks (such as Google Fonts, cdnjs, unpkg and Tailwind). To deliver those files, those services receive your IP address, as happens with most websites.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and quotes that do not go ahead: up to 2 years from our last contact, then deleted.
- Customer and installation records: for as long as we need them to support your system and warranty, and at least 6 years after the work to meet tax and legal requirements.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
- ask us to delete your information, or to limit how we use it;
- object to how we use it, including for marketing;
- ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere, where that applies.
To use any of these rights, contact [email protected]. We will reply within one month. There is normally no charge.
If you are unhappy
Please tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Keeping it safe
We limit who can see your information, store enquiries on access-controlled systems, and use encrypted (HTTPS) connections on this website.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
